The UroLift System Treatment
The UroLift® System is a new, minimally invasive approach to treating BPH for patients looking for an alternative to drug therapy or more invasive surgery. The UroLift System is a straightforward procedure that utilizes tiny implants to lift and hold the enlarged prostate tissue out of the way so it no longer blocks the urethra. There is no cutting, heating or removal of prostate tissue.
Advanced Urology Institute at Titus is excited to offer their patients this novel treatment option.
The HoLEP Procedure
HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate) uses a holmium laser is a minimally invasive treatment for BPH by removing excess benign prostate tissue. Men with prostates over 60 ml in size are particularly good candidates, as are men taking blood thinners such as aspirin, warfarin, or clopidogrel.
Dr. Lance Walsh was trained on the HoLEP technique in Cambridge, England and is the only physician in our region offering this procedure.

Kidney Stones and Moses Laser Lithotripsy
A kidney stone is a solid concretion of minerals that forms in a kidney when urine has high levels of calcium, oxalate or phosphorus. The urine becomes too concentrated and these substances crystalize to form stones. Kidney stones vary in size and may stay in the kidney or travel down the urinary tract. Symptoms from urinary stones arise when they begin to move down the ureter, sometimes causing intense pain.
Advanced Urology Institute at Titus utilizes the high powered Moses Holmium Laser, which in addition to the above benefits, also decreases surgery time and โdustsโ the stone down further, significantly reducing the use of fragment extraction tools, thus even more decreasing the invasiveness. This technique provides for a 95% success rate with a single treatment as accessibility is improved as well as stone migration reduced.
Blue Light Cystoscopy with Cysview
A cystoscopy is a medical procedure typically preformed in office, where Dr Lance Walsh uses a thin, tube-like telescope called a cystoscope to look directly into the bladder for a close examination of the lining. This procedure is used to help find the cause of symptoms, such as hematuria or blood in the urine, and to treat or monitor conditions.

da Vinci Robotic
Prostatectomy
Robot-assisted surgery offers surgeons greater access to difficult-to-reach areas of the anatomy using the EndoWrist instruments.
Board Certified Urologist Lance Patrick Walsh, MD, PhD is a recognized leader in the field of robotic surgery is using the da Vinci robotic surgical system to perform prostate surgery (prostatectomy).
